This course aims to provide participants with the strategic understanding and applied skills in planning, conducting, and analyzing, reporting findings from qualitative research. At the end of the course, participants will be able to plan, conduct, and critically assess the quality of the qualitative data gathered during their data collection process. Participants will also learn how to use NVivo 12 in Qualitative Data Analysis.

Fundamentals of GIS (Mapping and Spatial Analysis) using QGIS Trainings 

This intensive course provides the foundation for: Understanding and appreciating GIS, What it can do, How others are using it in Humanitarian response (plan missions, mobilize and implement field teams and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness in real time).

GIS for Monitoring and Evaluation Course

This is a comprehensive ten days course designed to help participants learn and understand how to use GIS in projects Monitoring and Evaluation. The participants will be exposed to data collection, management, updating, analysis, visualization and reporting in a GIS environment. They will also learn how to integrate spatial and non-spatial data from different sources and displaying the same in a GIS environment.

At the end of the training, participants shall have learnt the following:

  • Understanding and appreciating GIS, What it can do, and how others are using it in relation to M&E.
  • Participants shall learn the basic functions of a GIS, GIS Terminology, and why GIS is powerful tool for data analysis, retrieval and visualization.
  • In course exercises, students work with QGIS to visualize geographic data, create maps, query a GIS database, and perform spatial analysis in relation to M&E.
  • The course shall provide a complete field to office mobile mapping workflow to the participants. Participants shall use their mobile devices to collect data, load the data into GIS and create maps from data collected.
  • The course will enable the participants to also edit existing databases in the field and creating new data using field data collection techniques (Kobo Toolbox and ODK).
SPSS- Data Management, Analysis and Graphics @ Online and Face-to-Face (Nairobi)

Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) is a comprehensive and user friendly statistical software for researchers providing visualization and data analytical tools.

Participants shall explore the statistical capabilities of SPSS ranging from simple percentages to complex analyses of variance, multiple regressions, and general linear models as well as to generate tabulated reports, charts and plots of distributions and trends.

Participants will review several statistical techniques, gain an understanding of when and why to use these various techniques as well as how to apply them with confidence, interpret their output, and graphically display the results.

  • Visualiser et consulterdes données géographiques en 2D et en 3D
  • Accéder à des données géographiques disponiblessur internet
  • Organiser et gérerdes données géographiques
  • Modifierdes données géographiques existantes (édition) et en créerde nouvelles Analyserdes données géographiques (interroger des données, mettre en relation différentes informations spatiales, calculer des statistiques, etc.)
  • Réaliser une modélisationsimple sur base de données raster (image) (modèle multicouches)
  • Géoréférencer des données raster
  • Réaliser une analyse hydrologiquesimple (délimitation de bassins versants,)
  • Réaliser une mise en page cartographique
