Job Title: Medical Biller Location: Remote Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time Are you an experienced medical biller looking for a flexible remote position? We're hiring a Medical Biller VA to support our growing mental health practice. If you're detail-oriented, efficient, and knowledgeable with insurance billing—especially in the mental health field—we’d love to hear from you! Responsibilities: • Submit accurate insurance claims (primary and secondary) through our EHR system • Verify client insurance benefits and eligibility prior to sessions • Track and follow up on outstanding or denied claims in a timely manner • Post payments from insurance companies and clients, and reconcile accounts • Respond to client inquiries regarding billing and insurance • Conduct regular chart audits to ensure documentation aligns with billing and coding requirements • Identify and report any discrepancies or compliance issues in charts • Maintain up-to-date and organized billing records • Collaborate with clinicians and admin staff to resolve billing discrepancies • Stay current with insurance policies, coding updates, and billing best practices Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing (mental health billing preferred) • Knowledge of insurance claim submission, denial management, and payment posting • Experience with EHR systems (SimplePractice is a plus) • Familiarity with CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and HIPAA compliance • Experience conducting chart audits and ensuring documentation accuracy • Strong understanding of billing compliance standards and insurance guidelines • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) About Company: Find Your Balance, Center for Growth and Change Inc., is a mission-driven mental health practice providing telehealth services across California.
