1. Fiber Optics for Technicians
What participants will learn:
- Understand the different types of fiber cables/ Evaluate different connectors
- Terminate and polish connectors/ Evaluate loss with power meter and light source
- Industry standards and codes / Understand proper test procedure
- Evaluate your fiber optic network / Evaluate cable types for fusion splicing
- Prepare fiber ends for testing &splicing
- Interpret OTDR traces and identify cable problem areas.
2. FIBER TO THE X (FTTX)
What participants will learn:
- Understand Fiber Optics and explore opportunities presented by this unique technology (How Telcos around the world are using it)
- Industry standards and codes / Understand proper test procedure
- Evaluate your fiber optic network / Evaluate cable types for fusion splicing
- Practical aspect of Fiber Optics Network (Understand fiber cables, connectors, Splicing, Testing, Maintenance and Troubleshooting)
- Interpret OTDR traces and identify cable problem areas.
- What is FTT*? – Fiber-to-the-* - home, premises, curb, wireless etc.
- How FTT* developed and is growing worldwide
- Alternatives to FTTH
- Network Architectures used in FTT*, specifications, advantages/disadvantages
- What is a "triple-play" system and how is it implemented?
- What are FTT* standards? BPON, GPON, EPON, RFOG, etc.
- How to Plan, Design and Install a FTT* project
- How to test FTT* installations, especially PONs
3. Premises Structured Cabling (PCT)
This five days Training course defines what structured cabling is by putting it into historical Development context. Premises cabling refers to building and campus cabling used for Local Area Networks of Computers, Security Systems (CCTVs and Alarms), Building Management Systems, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS For Cellular And Wifi) and other applications inside buildings or on a WAN.
The Training also covers standards used in premises cabling. It covers copper, Fiber and wireless technologies used and corresponding components for multimode (OM1, OM2,OM3 and OM4) and single mode fibers, copper (UTP Cat 3, 5 and 6) and coax) and wireless. Student will learn how WiFi technology is incorporated in cabling systems.
The course will also go into testing methods and testing equipment used. There will be hands on labs to show various types of materials used, tools and equipment. We will have a rack and patch panels board with 66 and 110 terminating blocks, plugs and jacks for CAT 5, cat 5e, cat6, cat6a, cat7, cat8 cables.
Participants will learn various termination methods for multimode and single mode fibers. The course will be conducted to meet the Latest Standards.
- At the end of the training course participants should be able to design a structured cable network and distinguish various types of cables.
- Be able to install, prepare and terminate all types of premises cables inside buildings and campus setup.
- Participants will be able to make SC, ST and LC connectors in field.
- Participants will be able to make CAT 5, cat 5e, cat6, cat6a, cat7, cat8 and multimode fiber patch cords.
- They should be able to carry out trouble shooting of copper and fiber installation.
- Participants will also appreciate how fiber copper coax and wireless are integrated to form a structured cabling system
4. VSAT Field Engineering Training
This four days Course offers both theoretical and practical skills transfer as applicable to SCPC,TDM,TDMA,FTDMS for VSAT field engineers, support engineers and operational managers.
The course will cover the following:
- Introduction to Satellite Communication
- Introduction to VSAT
- (Practical demonstration of components of assembly)
- Type of VSAT Networks
- VSAT Access Methods
- (Practicals: Modems and their configuration)
- Fundamentals of VSAT Systems
- Site Survey
- VSAT installation concepts
- Tools and Equipment used when pointing at site
