Position Descrip tion
The Office of U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan, PA-06 is seeking a customer service-oriented, highly organized individual to serve as an Office Administrator in our satellite office in Reading, Pennsylvania.
This is a part-time position and fully in-person Wednesday through Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm, and ideally will begin on September 17, 2025.
As the Office Administrator for a Congressional district office, you will respond to constituent requests for assistance – from individuals, businesses, and nonprofits – and resolve issues through inquiries, facilitation, and problem solving. You will manage the administrative functions of the office by coordinating with the Office Administrator/Staff Assistants in our Washington DC and West Chester, PA offices on the following responsibilities: documenting correspondence, answering constituent inquiries, compiling reports, and maintaining the reception area for walk-in visitors and scheduled meetings. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Facilitate office internship program including hiring, training, and delegation of tasks to college student interns
• Process commendation requests
• Organize and deliver various weekly and monthly reports
• Maintain office inventory
• Assist district staff and interns as needed with various projects and public events

communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. Previous office administration experience is necessary and Spanish language skills are strongly preferred. Successful candidates must have good judgment and maturity along with an optimistic attitude. A keen interest in civics, current events, and public service are vital.
Starting salary is $32,500 annually. Medical benefits, savings and investment planning, tuition loan reimbursement, and 10 days paid leave are available as benefits for this part-time staff position. Our office is closed on federal holidays. Additionally, as Rep. Houlahan believes in actively giving back to our community, this part-time position is allocated 2.5 additional days of paid leave for volunteer work.
Our award-winning Reading office is in the heart of the fourth largest city in Pennsylvania and serves a dynamic and diverse population. You must have your own reliable vehicle for this position. A designated parking space on the property is provided for members of our
team.
